Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app Board of Trustees Chair Will Weatherford announced that Mike Griffin, Board of Trustees vice chair and Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app alum, has agreed to serve as chair of the 14-member Presidential Search Committee. To assist the committee, Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app has retained a highly regarded firm that worked with the university in its last presidential search.

Rhea Law has served as president since August 2021, initially on an interim basis before being named to the role permanently in March 2022. Under her leadership, Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app became the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the Association of American Universities in nearly 40 years.

From ballet to brain injury advocacy: Meet Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app student and Miss Tampa Alexandra de Roos

After a concussion ended her dream of professional ballet, Alexandra de Roos enrolled at Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app as a double major in biomedical sciences and psychology with the goal of becoming a neuropsychiatrist. She was also recently crowned Miss Tampa and plans to use her pulpit to promote brain trauma awareness.

This marks another chapter in a decades-long relationship between the two institutions, celebrating Graphicstudio’s pioneering role in the intersection of art and education.

Borkowski served as president from 1988 to 1993. During his tenure, Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app’s enrollment increased from 30,000 to more than 34,000, research grants increased from $37 million to $60 million and the Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app Foundation’s endowment grew from $21 million to $61 million.
