From Cuba to Tampa, this alumna's path always led to health care

Originally born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app College of Public Health (COPH) alumna Alicia Gomez Fuego grew up in a small town outside of the city called San Luis on a small farm where large quantities of tobacco were planted and livestock raised.

Twenty-seven faculty members recognized with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards

Twenty-seven Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app faculty members were recognized on Tuesday, September 17 with Outstanding Research Achievement Awards. The COPH's Judith Rijnhart was recognized for her distinguished contributions to the field of epidemiology and expertise in mediation analysis to investigate causal mechanisms that underlie exposure and intervention effects of cognitive health outcomes in older adults.
