BIOGRAPHY:
Jonathan Schroden, PhD is a Senior Project Director at CNA Corporation, specializing in strategic competition, irregular warfare, and special operations. He served as the Research Director for the Afghanistan War Commission and held various leadership roles within CNA, including Director of the Special Operations Program and Countering Threats and Challenges Program. Dr. Schroden has been deployed 13 times to Afghanistan and Iraq and has supported multiple operational missions worldwide.

He is a Senior Advisor to the Global SOF Foundation and Tufts University’s Afghanistan Assumptions Project. Dr. Schroden has authored extensively in peer-reviewed outlets and online publications such as War on the Rocks, Lawfare, and Politico. He has appeared frequently as a commentator on television, radio, and podcasts, discussing national security issues.

Schroden holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Cornell University and a B.S. from the University of Minnesota – Duluth. He has received multiple honors, including CNA's Phil E. DePoy Award for Analytic Excellence.
