BIOGRAPHY:
Major General (Ret.) Bill Hix is the managing partner of Next Horizon Partners, a strategy and innovation consultancy serving companies and organizations across the defense, security, and technology sectors. Hix's 37 years of service included assignments across Asia, North Africa, Egypt, the Middle East, and Afghanistan, with extensive experience in leading U.S. Army strategy, innovation, and change management initiatives. He played a key role in the Army’s initial engagements with China and served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bill is a graduate of West Point and has held prestigious fellowships, including as a Hoover Institution National Security Affairs Fellow and a Seminar 21 Fellow. He is affiliated with the Army Science Board, the Army Strategist Association, and the Association of Wartime Allies. He also served on the National Academy of Sciences’ Board on Army Research and Development.
