Local Veterans Express Themselves in Program by the Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app Contemporary Art Museum

Friday, November 16, 2018

The Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app Contemporary Museum is enriching the lives of veterans through its Breaking Barriers art program.

The program will conclude with a two-day exhibition of participant artwork in the Contemporary Art Museum on December 12 and 13.

The fifteen veteran participants of the program took part in a five-week photography course in the summer taught by instructor Jim Reiman of The Art Institute of Tampa. In December, each participant will exhibit two of their works at the Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app Contemporary Art Museum.

Curator of Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡appCAM’s Art in Health program Dolores Coe and curator of education Leslie Elsasser organize Breaking Barriers in partnership with the Ôƶ¥¶Ä³¡app School of Art and Art History. The program is part of Museums on Call, a museum-led statewide initiative develop and present arts-based experiences for military and active veterans and their families.
